1. Men will FAKE this in the beginning. That pretend empathy goes away once they "have" us. 2. As a woman, I dont empathize with everyone like we are "supposed" to. No one gets my full spectrum of emotions without discernment. That's just BEGGING to be used & abused. I will express Sympathy when appropriate, but empathy is reserved for the people (male & female) that have gone through a vetting process and I have determined they dont have toxic or ulterior motives for wanting access to me.

The number one reason I was attracted to my husband was his emotional maturity and ability to empathize with me. I was actively getting over a different guy when I met my husband, and instead of telling me to go be with him, he listened to me and took the time to understand why I left and didn’t want to see that guy anymore. Years later, this man is my safe haven and I can tell him anything
