Her happy ending was that she finally got to rest. Inuyasha was safe and loved for exactly who he was. Even though they didn't end up together Kikyo knew he was in good hands.

Growing up is realizing kikyō was not a villain. she was a victim and was never allowed peace, her grave/body was desecrated because of a toxic man's obsession (naraku)

Did yall not watch it. She was happy when she died. She died a real women in the arms of her love. She said that was enough. Throughout the whole show of struggling to decide if she even wanted to continue to live with the burden. Kikyo may have not been great but can you blame her? She’s not gonna get robbed of her life then be the happiest most helpful person🤦‍♀️

it was so sad when she died in the finale season but at the same time I know the "real" Kikyo died a long time before. Many people also don't understand how sad and complex her character actually is.

The tragic Preistess Kikyo. So young, so beautiful, but so unfortunate. It is her unfortunate fate that makes her character so complex and easy to misunderstand and dislike. Forced to live as a selfless saint in life, only to be resurrected as a manifestation of her own unresolved malice and sorrow in death. Kikyo was trapped between the world of the living and the world of the dead, essentially unable to truly live, yet unable to fully die...peace was virtually incompatible with her life. In her entire existence, her only reprieve was finally being able to die peacefully. For Kikyo to be free, she had to lose her soul. I will never hate Kikyo❤️🤍
