@clemreye: Every year in Zundert, the Netherlands, gigantic floats completely covered in dahlias take over the streets of the town. This spectacular flower parade dates back to 1936 and is organized almost entirely by volunteers. Hundreds of thousands of flowers are used to decorate the floats, some of which reach several meters in height. Each float is designed and built over many months by teams representing different neighborhoods of Zundert, turning the event into a huge artistic competition. The most impressive part is that the dahlias are often attached to the floats shortly before the parade to keep them fresh and their colors vibrant. The creations are then judged in a competition to determine the winning design.
