The video covers the fix. Here's the part that decides whether it works. A commitment device only does its job if the cost is visible and it lands before the workout, not after. That's why a gym membership fails as one. You paid in January and never think about it again, so the money is gone whether you go or not. Gym gear in the hallway works because you have to walk past it on the way out the door. Same reason telling a personal friend or gym partner does more for gym consistency than announcing it to a bunch of strangers online. You'll see that friend on Thursday. The internet forgets by Tuesday. So when you build your version, don't ask what it costs. Ask when you'll feel it. -Allan p.s.
