I'm 60 and I work with 4 men in their 20s and 30s and I am working hard every day to educate them, teach them, raise their emotional intelligence level, and put them in check. I have 3 daughters and no sons, and I'm hopeful I'm making a tiny bit of progress.

Could this be a result of decades and decades of society/the patriarchy telling men to suffocate their connection to their emotions & thus their divine self because it’s seen as “weak” for a man to be in touch with that side? Furthermore, if a man is capable of making that connection, many may find him less attractive because of the way society has built the image in women’s eyes of the “ideal” man being strong, like a stone, showing no emotion and unable to be moved. When men see us so connected to self, so sure of who we are within ourselves, and feeling this block put into place by society/the patriarchy, it creates a jealousy and resentment towards us because they have never been allowed the safe space to become this way without harsh criticism, or taught how to do so. Attempts are either met with failures due to lack of guidance, criticism, or insecurities overpowering them. That festers from the inside out and becomes where we are standing now. Or… at least that’s a hypothesis I have.
