I felt guilty about choosing and having an only child. People said to me “But he will have to care for you in his own when you’re old!” Now my mum is slowly dying from a serious heart condition and I no longer feel any guilt. Why? Because who does all the care for my mum with no support? Me! The person with TWO siblings.

This! Like when ppl say an only child will have to deal w the death of both parents alone and then be alone forever, I’m always like, they don’t have friends? A spouse? A support system? lol. As a mother of an only child, I hope my daughter has her own support system outside of her father and I as she grows up lol. Siblings do not guarantee that you won’t be lonely lol.

My husband and I are more than likely one and done because I HATED being pregnant and our daughter is the definition of perfection. but, I saw someone comment on another post about being an only child and how they hated it because at dinner time is just them “eating dinner with a random married couple”……you mean your PARENTS?? They aren’t just some random couple. You lived inside your mom for nearly 10 months LMAO
