are ryanair staff trained in first aid? if so why on my flight was ALL the flight attendants unable to do basic first aid. e.g chest compressions? a man on my flight was unconscious and the staff wanted to keep him in his seat and not tend to him, he was unresponsive. eventually three ladies two happened to be nurses and one a student nurse got involved. they couldn’t feel a pulse, they began compressions, the were going to use the defibrillator but it didn’t work all they were able to use it for was to monitor the man. they got one of the oxygen tanks from the plane and their was literally NO oxygen flow so they had to do it manually, thankfully those ladies were on the flight and saved him. unlike the staff who were running around like headless chickens and actually getting in the way of the professionals the ladies had to ask the staff to get out the way MULTIPLE times because they were borderline standing on this man as these ladies were saving him. yes it’s a scary situation but i did first aid myself and the first rule is to stay calm, i had to use my own first aid training a few times and have stayed calm. but again i realise it is terrifying, but what is not excusable is the fact that the medical equipment on board was useless, is it not a requirement for this equipment to work? is it not illegal to operate a aircraft with mandatory emergency equipment that do not work? doesn’t that literally violate regulations? are these things not checked before a flight?
