@michellelelman: If you are noticing someone leaving 7 minutes early, you aren’t focused enough on your own workout #pilatesclass #stayinginpilatesclass #leavingworkoutclassearly #leavingpilatesearly
IMO leave when you need to, especially if its a medical issue.
Everyone has paid for the class, and not under any obligation to push past what they're comfortable with.
Any exercise/movement is better than not trying

I'm a yoga instructor and I agree people shouldn't leave early and if you can't make the time commitment to stay the full class then don't come. if you need a rest ABSOLUTELY take a break in childs pose or shavasana but leaving is disruptive to the teacher and class depending on the studio it can be a safety issue. particularly for yoga where meditation and breathwork need quiet.

I had a male instructor shout at me during a class when I had to sit down mid class because my vision went black and I nearly passed out lmao. It was a beginner class.

The lady who left made a response. She left because she had bad news recently because she had recently found out a friend had cancer and wanted to cry.

As a spin instructor - I have absolutely no problem if you need to leave early, literally set an alarm on my watch so I could remind someone to leave when they said they needed to. That being said, I get sad when people don’t stay for the 2 minute stretch at the end

I'm not a fitness instructor but I do teach at university, and one of the first things I tell my students each year is that if they need or want to leave class early that's fine and I just want them to avoid causing too much disruption on the way out. If you're teaching adults, you kind of need to trust that they are doing their best and that they know better than you do about when/if they need to duck out early. Someone (quietly) leaving the class isn't a sign they don't respect you as an instructor or that they're not committed enough or whatever, it's a sign they recognise their needs and are taking responsibility for accommodating those needs while doing what they can to engage with your class 🤷

Depends….if you need to go, go, just don’t cause a scene and we’re good, it’s good if we know: which is fine.
