I am so so lucky with my mother in law in the same way. My mil is straight to the point but also loves, and encourages and supports me, her son and our kids. So lucky considering what an absolute train wreck my own mother is xx

So true. My “ex” best friends were horrendous to me during postpartum and just disappeared. It’s taken me a while to realise they needed me small to make themselves feel big. So before I became a mum I was the same, winging it,plodding on doing nothing good or noteworthy whilst they were doing good in their lives which I always cheered for. Once something big happened for me, they hated it. And disappeared. Shocking really but it is what it is xx

I'm so glad you have a good mother in law - I have a monster in law BUT I had a great Mum (my mil had the cheek to bemoan to me her mum was dying at 99 as was my Mum - I knew she was an ignorant..... but that topped it for me 😂) As I said before the trash is removing itself we just have to let them go xx
