@kinderwell2: Vague warnings aren't effective. Here's what truly needs to be discussed openly and repeatedly with teen girls: 1. Grooming has a script. Lines like "I'm the only one who understands you" or "don't tell your parents about us" are patterns, not compliments. A girl who recognizes these phrases is better equipped to spot them. 2. Older men need an explanation, not just a rule. Simply saying "don't date someone older" isn't sufficient. Girls need to understand why age gaps can create power imbalances, and that factors like money or experience don't automatically make someone safer. 3. Gifts and favors deserve a question. If someone consistently gives her things while expecting secrecy or attention in return, it's not generosity. Teach her to ask 'why'. 4. Pressure doesn't always look like pressure to a teenager. Phrases like "If you love me, prove it" and "everyone's doing it" are manipulation disguised as romance. She needs to hear this explicitly named. 5. Photos are permanent once sent. If anyone threatens her over a photo, coming to you for help must feel safer than hiding it. 6. Party safety is a checklist, not a lecture. Remind her to never leave a drink unattended, know who she's with, and plan how she's getting home. She should feel safe calling for a ride without fear of punishment. 7. Friendship pressure is often underestimated. Girls sometimes take risks to avoid being excluded. Emphasize that belonging isn't worth sacrificing her safety or values. 8. Give her a safe way to come to you. Telling the truth should never feel like the end of her world. A calm response from you is what will bring her home before situations escalate, not a harsh one. The goal isn't to raise a girl who never makes mistakes, but one who can recognize danger, set boundaries, and knows exactly who to call. These conversations might feel awkward, but they are among the most important things you'll discuss with her this year. #parenting #teengirls #safety #communication #parentingtips

I'm so thankful that we raised our daughter as a savage. she certainly won't be finding herself in any bad situations on the Internet

These can apply to our sons aswell. We need to teach all of our children about grooming, being pressured, pressuring others, all of it.

My parents did all of this and I knew that no matter how bad I screwed up, I could always go to them. This made it so much safer for me and I'm forever grateful 🫶

don't forget some adults use kids their own age to lure them in. so it might not be the adult directly.

It’s a shame this has to be necessary today. The world has become so corrupt, evil and getting worse.

teen boys also boys can be in danger when they can't recognize a bad hearted girl.. and the kind of trouble they can get into is far worse than a girl

also teach your kids that even someone their own age can groom them, not just older people.

I have and will always say to my kids.. never ever get in a car with someone who’s has been drinking or on rugs. Always call us, what ever the time. We will not be angry. We will pick you up or get you an uber. No questions asked. You being safe is better than getting in an accident.

You don't suddenly start to talk with your daughter. I mean you should not go from zero to full attention. A good father give always good advices during all life, not only at this moment. Understand that and it will be much easier.
