*JUSTICE AND FAIRNESS FOR GOLBO WARD* Today, the Council of Elders from the Gabra Community, led by their Chairman Edin Gababo, together with Abdishakur Abdi Ibrein, Chairman of the Borana Council of Elders, strongly condemned the manner in which the land registration process was conducted under the name *Dabel Sakuye Community Land.* Golbo Ward is home to several communities, including the Sakuye, Borana, Gabra, Garri, and Kona communities. The elders have made it clear that they are not opposed to land registration. However, they strongly question why land belonging to a diverse and multi-community area is being registered in the name of only one community. The elders further condemned the relevant offices responsible for the process, including the office of the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Hon. Alice Wahome, and the land registration authorities in Isiolo, over the alleged failure to ensure meaningful public participation and consultation with all affected communities. Land is a sensitive matter that must be handled with fairness, transparency, inclusivity, and respect for every community living within Golbo Ward. We cannot accept a process that sidelines other communities and makes decisions affecting their ancestral land without adequate consultation. The people of Golbo Ward deserve justice. All communities must be heard, consulted, and treated equally. No community should be excluded from decisions concerning land that they have lived on and depended upon for generations. We call for an immediate review of this process and genuine public participation involving all communities of Golbo Ward before any further action is taken.
