After his father’s death in 1885, Frost moved with his mother to Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he developed a love for reading and writing. He briefly attended Dartmouth College and later Harvard University, but he did not complete a degree. Instead, he worked various jobs, including teaching and farming, while quietly pursuing poetry. In 1894, Frost sold his first poem, My Butterfly: An Elegy, marking the start of his literary journey. However, recognition came slowly. In 1912, seeking better opportunities, he moved to England, where he published his first poetry collections, A Boy’s Will (1913) and North of Boston (1914). These works established his voice, rooted in rural life and deep philosophical reflection. Returning to the United States in 1915, Frost gained widespread acclaim. Over the years, he became one of America’s most celebrated poets, known for works like The Road Not Taken and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.
