Man, staying for potential is a whole trap because your nervous system gets completely exhausted waiting for the version of them that only exists in your head. as someone who had a mom who chose drugs over her children, she had the doctor jekyll mr hyde side effect. an the ' i can fix her' nentality is rooted in the opposite of being a victim of that abusive relationship.

Girl I got a crush on is currently in an abusive relationship. Her boyfriend constantly watches her weight and calorie intake and threatens to leave her if she gets too skinny. She was bulimic.

Trauma bonding! "Great some of the time." Also, w/ covert narcs almost everyone thinks they are great - almost everybody loves them! So, naturally, you think (and the narcissist tells you) it's your fault! They are different people behind closed doors.

Can you talk about why people that know all of this still go back to their abuser? My friend said "he is the only one that accepts me and doesn't leave me" like, just date more people lol.
