He's technically correct, according to authentic Hadith. The preferred (Sunnah) method is plucking (natf) for underarm hair. Most men aren't told this when they are young, which results in lots of thick hair growth, but if you start plucking in your teens the hair growth reduces over time and using an epilator becomes less and less painful.

hmmm with plucking there's more of a chance of ingrown hair more many which in turns becomes infected, really would not recommend unless you are there everyday exfoliating
