@matthewnortonphotos: Dallas, Texas has a subway station, and somehow it still feels like one of the city’s best-kept secrets. The Cityplace/Uptown DART station has been beneath Dallas for more than 25 years, yet I’m constantly surprised by how many locals either don’t know it exists or have simply never been inside. The escalators alone stretch up to 138 feet, and according to DART, they were the longest escalators in the Western U.S. when installed. Is it giving New York City subway? Absolutely not. 😂 But this underground DART train station is about as close as we’re getting in Dallas, and that alone makes it worth exploring. So if you find yourself in this part of town, go underground and have yourself a little adventure. Sometimes the best hidden gems in Texas have been right under your feet the entire time. EDIT: This is Uptown Station NOT Union Station. If you go there, it will look very different. 😂

Yes I caught the last train and the homeless offered me food. I guess they thought I was joining them but just didn’t know that station becomes a homeless shelter at the end of the night.

Yes, I knew but I’ve never gone there because it is sketchy and a lot of homeless people. Everyone who tells me they ride that one tunnel by crack zone target 🎯 always have crazy stories to talk about it. Go at your own discretion.
