I always think generalizing fans of ships/characters to accuse them of harmful things is not only watering down the actual offense of those harmful things, but also putting everyone who enjoys a character or ship in a box causing people to assume, accuse and even attack them simply for enjoying something. Unless the person is actively doing harm i dont get why people call someone something harmful for simply enjoying anything? Im so sorry you had to deal with that amount of harassment, it’s crazy how people act on the internet based on simple opinions and preferences
