He is 100% liable for their deaths. Never in a million years would I leave my child alone with their father if he said he was having thoughts of harming them. Patrick left a mentally ill woman, who was open about having thoughts of harming her kids, alone with them and was somehow shocked at the result. He deserves prison time.
