@syracuse.com: When Precious Arzuaga was sent to spend the rest of her life in prison, the killer rolled her eyes. The reaction of the 40-year-old woman who led a group of misfits to kidnap, sexually assault and torture Sam Nordquist — a trans man she lured to the Finger Lakes with the false promise of love — until Nordquist died on Feb. 1, 2025, came after Judge Katherine Karle announced Arzuaga's sentence. "Ms. Arzuaga, you are here remanded to the New York State Department of Corrections to serve your sentence for the rest," the judge paused before carefully enunciating, "of your life." We should be studying this person. Genetic testing, IQ testing, personality testing etc. Social history. Family history. Everything. We should do this with all violent criminals so we can figure out the commonalities and prevent these kinds of crimes from happening in the future.
