Warum ich bei großen Tattoos Wickelunterlagen nutze: Direkt nach dem Stechen kommt eine Wickelunterlage drauf, abends wird sie einmal gewechselt. Die nächsten zwei bis drei Tage dann dreimal täglich: mit lauwarmem Wasser und pH-neutraler Flüssigseife vorsichtig waschen, mit Küchenrolle trockentupfen, hauchdünn Aftercare drauf, frische Wickelunterlage drüber. Warum überhaupt Wickelunterlage statt Second Skin: Wenn Wundflüssigkeit trocknet, bildet sich Schorf. Beim Tattoo will ich aber möglichst wenig davon, denn: je mehr Schorf, desto eher reißt der auch durch normale Bewegung oder Reibung auf. Das bedeutet nicht nur, dass sich der Schorf danach neu bildet, sondern im schlimmsten Fall auch Farbverlust und Narbenbildung. Bei meinen großflächigen, flächendeckenden Projekten bildet sich außerdem deutlich mehr Wundflüssigkeit. Unter Second Skin würde diese sich einfach sammeln: das Tattoo liegt dann quasi im eigenen Sekret, was der Heilung in dem Ausmaß nicht zuträglich ist. Dazu kommt, dass sich die Second Skin bei so viel Flüssigkeit auch lösen kann. Und generell bin ich kein Fan davon, einen Kleber direkt auf der frischen Wunde zu haben.. viele reagieren darauf, und das muss nicht sein. Die Wickelunterlage dagegen nimmt die Flüssigkeit laufend auf, bevor sie eintrocknen und Schorf bilden kann. Weniger Schorf, weniger Risiko, ruhigere Abheilung. Ich arbeite seit Jahren so und erziele damit bei meiner Art der Arbeit die besten Ergebnisse.
