If I found the client’s LinkedIn profile or company page, I’d connect with them and send a short, personalized message. “Hi Sarah! I came across your job post for a Social Media Manager VA. I noticed your brand has been posting consistently about productivity, and I really liked your recent carousel about remote teams. I just submitted my application and wanted to introduce myself. Looking forward to connecting!” Notice something? I’m simply introducing myself and showing that I actually took time to learn about their business. I’d also start building relationships before I even need work. I’d connect with founders, recruiters, agency owners, and other VAs. I’d comment on their posts, join conversations, and stay active on LinkedIn so my name becomes familiar over time. And I’d never rely on just one source. I’d apply through job portals, build my LinkedIn presence, send personalized outreach, and ask people in my network for referrals. The goal is to create more opportunities for clients to find and remember me.
