@pa_nicola: An optimal toxin result shouldn’t come at the expense of normal function. Lower-face toxin can be incredibly valuable, both for aesthetic improvement and prevention. But the goal is to relax these muscles, not eliminate their ability to function. If your patient can no longer maintain normal oral competence, keep liquids in their mouth, or eat normally, we have gone too far. Overtreatment around the chin, DAO, or lip can interfere with the muscles responsible for normal movement and lip closure. Movement is not the enemy! The goal is the intended aesthetic effect while preserving the patient's ability to smile, speak, eat, and live normally.
