But when symptoms do appear, they may include: 🟡 Yellow eyes or skin (jaundice) — caused by a buildup of bilirubin in the body. 🟤 Dark urine — urine may become noticeably darker than usual. ⚪ Pale or clay-colored stool — can happen when bile flow is affected. 🤢 Nausea or vomiting — digestive symptoms can occur. 🍽️ Loss of appetite — you may have little desire to eat. 😴 Tiredness and weakness — unusual fatigue is common. 🌡️ Fever — particularly with some forms of acute viral hepatitis. 🤕 Pain or discomfort in the upper-right abdomen — where the liver is located. 😣 Itchy skin — can occur, particularly when bile flow is disrupted. Important: These symptoms don't automatically mean someone has hepatitis. Several other conditions can cause similar symptoms, so testing is the best way to know what is going on.
