I was married 20 years we had 5 kids. I was on my own to fully start over at 40 with a 16, 14, 12 and twins that were 7. And I did! Very rare to have your situation and I am so thankful for you that you have that and also for your child! It is so difficult to have to “compensate” for a partner with mental health and addiction issues and strained relationships with kids. Keep sharing this!!! People need to learn how to do it right!

The two people put their priorities in place. It is not the other parent's responsibility to help during others time for non-emergency situations. Forgetting the child's sport equipment or school projects. It's that parent's responsibility.

You are so amazing. He should’ve never left you or you left him because he should’ve been a great guy in the first place don’t know what happened but all I know is I would be busting ass to keep you if I was him.
