I have SO many thoughts about this as someone who also spent 2.5 years bedbound! This is what I wrote in my bio and maybe I’ve just been lucky but overall it’s been super well-received? I’m still navigating how and when to share what, but each time I do it, it gets less scary. Soooo much more I could say-this is truly just the tip of the iceberg

The amount of people who break up with their recovering partner after their chronic illness diagnosis is something I will never get over. But on the other hand, I’ve heard the most beautiful stories where loyal and kind partners stay and care for their loved ones through it all, and after they were almost / fully recovered their relationships were better than ever before <3… 🩷 we need more people like that in the world because dating in general is hard enough, even without a chronic illness…🥲

I feel like it just takes the right person. In the context of friendships, I’ve lost SO many. I randomly met the best girl ever, we were going to a concert and I said I’m immunosuppressed so I’ll need to wear a mask sometimes. She didn’t want me to feel isolated so she wore one too, no questions asked. It just takes a really good person

And at what point do you divulge this information??😅 I’ve been super transparent that I’m sick and can’t do anything right now but I feel like I should be completely transparent of how bad it was because should they make this decision before or after they’re in love, which is more fair? 😅

I feel very fortunate to have been friends with my partner months before we even considered dating. At least he knew what he was getting into lol. He’s the most amazing partner and takes care of me whenever I need and never makes me feel less than.

GIRL I COMPLETELY AGREE!! its genuinely one of the hardest things🤣😭i never know how to start bc i obviously HAVE to bring it up right away as it impacts where we go/what our plans are, but then i don’t want that to be their first impression of me LOL. and even if i tried to not bring it up it always does, because its quite literally been the last 4 years of my life🤣😭

So hard. I don’t have debilitating issues but even my small ones such as a billion allergies sometimes bugs people and I’m just like 😶 why does this bug so many ppl it doesn’t affect them at all

It's always been hard because I would say I have MS. Meeting me when I'm healthier is a shock when I become sick.🤔😏

I told anyone I went on a date with I had numerous chronic illnesses right off the bat, it weeded out people fast. It may have sucked at the time but the one that didn’t think twice about it I’ve been married to for 2.5 years now 🤍
