This was completely avoidable. The drains are a secondary issue. Houses should NEVER have been built there. It’s only a matter of time. All the money can’t stop what’s coming. Imagine the hubris to think you can outsmart Mother Nature 🙄

If you need to put a sea wall somewhere, you might as well admit you know what's coming. Houses don't suddenly get swamped or fall into the sea. The same plague of houses crumbling into the ocean in NC will be repeated all over unless they get moved.
