@dens_destinations: Something that needs to be on everyone’s bucket list…welcome to Day of the Dead in Mexico!💀 You might recognise the celebrations from the film Coco, and it really is like stepping into a movie - elaborate costumes, huge parades, colourful altars and streets filled with flowers and music 🌼 The largest celebrations are in Oaxaca and Mexico City, and there are a few things you need to know before visiting: • The celebrations take place over several days, with the main celebrations on 1st & 2nd November
• Accommodation gets booked up well in advance, so make sure you book as early as possible!
• Visit the cemeteries late at night, where you’ll see families gathering to remember and honour their loved ones
• Try some traditional Day of the Dead foods, including pan de muerto and sugar skulls It’s such a unique celebration of life, death and family, and one of the most incredible cultural experiences I’ve ever had. Is Day of the Dead in Mexico on your bucket list? 🇲🇽 #mexico #dayofthedead #diadelosmuertos #oaxaca #mexicotravel
