if you have POTS this DOESNT go for you! For most people at least, you do need electrolytes to prevent flare up!

and remember my fellow POTS people!! she ISNT TALKING TO US!! she's talking to the average guy ! but also the advice about adding salt to your water can very much apply to us and is a lot cheaper 🩷🩷

I drink Electrolytes before a long day out in the heat before a festival or concert, cuz ppl be dropping like flies because they hydrate enough! But other than that, no need 🤷🏽♀️

The same with most supplements if you eat a good balanced diet - unless you’re deficient the only supplement that’s actually recommended for almost everyone in the UK is vitamin D

Wait, so I have to walk 4 miles a day to get to work in school. Does that count as heavy workout with a backpack on my back that weighs about 20 lbs?

completely agree! I have POTs and need 10g of salt a day. Am I going to spend an arm and a leg on electrolytes mixes every month? Nope. I just buy a dollar thing of salt and that lasts me more than a month.

people need to remember that electrolytes are mostly salt.

I was fighting online with a lady who was on a low sodium diet prescribed by her doctor but then took electrolytes daily. I pointed out how contradictory that is and she said she’s “very active”. Her very active? Walking her dog half an hour a day.

can we normalise remembering chronically ill & disabled people when making post like these!! Athletes are NOT the only people that need electrolytes, yes your average "healthy" person doesn't need them but they work wonders for the chronically ill/disabled community on medications etc 🙌🏼 (many of who also do the desk job & go to the gym) x

Unless you’re an athlete, working out to the extent of an athlete, or disabled (like me with POTS) you really don’t need it lol
