THIS IS LITERALLY MY EXACT VIEWS, kgb and nastydirtygross and are the only resemblance of the provacuteur era she should’ve stuck with the sound that worked instead of being like the rest of pop music, boys and marijuana we’re unique enough to do it well but most of the album other than it were flat

I agree - love her down. Not an awful album by any means, but Prima doesn’t compare to the bold, gritty, unique POV of the Provocateur. The label played it safe to appeal to the masses, knowing Adéla fans won’t abandon her over this, but it’s not for the OG fans. I’m really hoping they let her get grungy and experimental on her sophomore album. I’m just happy we got the Provocateur. I’ll mentally consider that her debut album 😅

Absolutely rooting for adela, but I fear I agree with you. Prima does feel so flat compared to how interesting provocateur was. However I will in fact be a therapy defender…I absolutely love that song and it gives us one of the best looks at where she is currently at as an artist

100% agree. I was strangely disappointed and I think it was due to the lack of hits for me. Therapy was borderline unlistenable but nasty pretty gross clears the whole albums 🥰

100% agree. for me, prima is a diluted adéla - BUT it does show that she is capable of wearing many different costumes. she’s best when she leans into transgression and experimentation, but it’s understandable why she would want her debut record to be commercially viable. hopefully the album does well and its success gives her the security needed to follow it up with something more curated to her personal taste and provocative vision

exactly! it fell so flat for me. the production is nowhere near as interesting as on the provocateur and the writing is so underwhelming. there are a few good moments like i would say on marijuana but it mostly just doesn’t live up to what i know adela is capable of

people hating on therapy have to realize than an album is a work of art, an experience. when listening to the whole thing, youre supposed to feel emotion, and therapy did it for me. its not supposed to be listenable, its supposed to be THERAPY
