when I was younger me and my brother created a new myth together, you know how kids are, and it was about them. I don't remember much, but the story was about how, when they got to Rome after Aeneas and met the italic gods Athena was hurt by them, and Ares went to save her, then I remember clearly Athena asking him "why do you save me if I'm your opposite?" and Ares responded "because you're my sister and a part of me, if you die, I die"

Hera have two son and I would say they both have their moments that their mother have a problem with them. depends on interpretation her favourite son can very much be Hephaestus as much as Ares. Which I would argue it's Hephaestus after they made up. Hera doesn't have any problems with Athena as she's not a child of Zues affair. Athena either born by Zues himself or from Methis, Zues eat her, which is his lawful wife before Hera. Also Ares being dislike is nothing new in greek pantheon. The gods literally forgot him when he got abducted. Let's just say Hera favourite child is Hebe. easier.
