Main components Main Supply / 3-Pole MCB The left-side breaker receives the 3-phase power supply. The three phases are shown as Red, Yellow, and Blue. It protects the circuit from overload/short circuit. Two Contactors The two contactors are used to control the motor in opposite directions. Left contactor: one direction, typically UP. Right contactor: opposite direction, typically DOWN. Terminals such as 1L1, 3L2, 5L3 are the contactor inputs. 2T1, 4T2, 6T3 are the outputs to the motor. UP Push Button When the UP button is pressed, its contactor coil is energized. The motor rotates in the direction that raises the crane hook. DOWN Push Button When the DOWN button is pressed, the other contactor operates. The motor rotates in the opposite direction and lowers the hook. Emergency Stop (E-STOP) The red mushroom button is a safety switch. Pressing it breaks the control circuit and stops the hoist. NC Interlocking The terminals marked 21NC–22NC are normally-closed auxiliary contacts. They prevent both UP and DOWN contactors from operating at the same time. This is very important because simultaneous contactor operation can cause a phase-to-phase short circuit. NO Auxiliary Contact 13NO–14NO is a normally-open auxiliary contact. It can be used for self-holding/latching of the contactor after the push button is released. How it works Press UP → UP contactor energizes → 3-phase motor rotates → hook goes UP. Press DOWN → DOWN contactor energizes → phase sequence/direction changes → motor rotates opposite → hook goes DOWN. Press E-STOP → control circuit opens → contactor drops out → motor stops. ⚠️ Important: This is a 3-phase motor circuit and can contain dangerous voltage.
