$100… now worth nothing. Or perhaps worth a whole lot more? I’ve been painting directly onto genuine US dollar bills — taking something designed purely to represent monetary value and turning it into something completely different. $1. $5. $10. $20. $50. And now $100. Each one has been transformed for my new show with Edit Gallery in New York City this September. But it does raise a question… When you remove the monetary value from money, can you actually create something more valuable?
