k + 1 is already equal to 1 + k and anything divided by itself becomes 1. So technically there’s no solution to this problem.

The question should have asked for the truth set, and then the answer would have been a null set.

Living Stone :
let's not complicate things
multiply both sides by 1+k
k+1=2 + 2k
k-2k = 2 - 1
-k = 1
k=-1

But I can look at that instantaneously in the 1st ms of the video and sit and see that, but I’m glad you walked through the entire equation since my math is fuzzy

Guys, this has no real solution. K + 1 and 1 + K is commutative. Even if their values were flipped, it won't change the answer. Therefore, K + 1 / 1 + K is K + 1 / K + 1, which we will make K +1 = x. That would mean that our expression will be x / x, which always equals to one. Nonsense!

hold up. if k=-1 then we can solve it even dough it seems to that we decide by 0 BUT if we have 0/0=2 and we multiply both sides with 0 then it's 0=2×0 so 0=0 which is correct

No one in life needs to know these formulas after high school. Why don’t schools teach people about interest. And taxes. Not useless non practical maths.
