They literally let me do anything and everything. If i dropped out, they would still support me. Im in college for myself, not them and they recognize that. By doing so, i have no pressure and have managed a 3.6 GPA. Im doing this for myself and its a great feeling

my academic pressure is that i dropped out twice and went back a third. now i have to prove to myself that im capable and have been this whole time….third semester on the deans list and my gpa is 3.75 :)

I grew up poor, my parents did not pressure me to excel academically. They loved me unconditionally, but i think they didnt really know the ins and outs of education. Applying to college, picking a major, figuring out how to pay for it, figuring out that excelling in college is different than HS, all of that were things i did on my own. Society told me over and over again my life would be worthless without an education, i lived in a perpetual state of severe anxiety worrying i let something slip that i didnt even know about, desperately clinging to the full ride the university i went to offered me. Made it out, 3.7 GPA, completely burnt out and clueless about how to enter the (non retail) workforce

They keep telling me that I'm in university for myself and that it's okay if I drop out because it's not the end of the world or I could find a different major and not to worry about money because "money comes and goes" and somehow all that positive reinforcement makes me feel even more guilty for doing bad in university
