I don’t understand why people are shocked. I mean when my kids were in school they didn’t even have Books. They came home with a sheet of paper. I remember lugging around a giant book bag and had a book for every single class.

nothing troubling. In my 12 year career as a professor i haven't met a single student who wanted to be a teacher. With low salaries and no respect all of this is easily predictable, only if you had good teachers.
