The very first call I took on my own when I was released from training. The guy said “my name is ***, I live at *** and I’m going to hang myself so let my family know where my body is” he then hung himself (with extension cords) and I could hear his breathing go. He lived at an apt complex and I had to stay on the line until I could hear the deputies knock on his door.

Drug deal gone wrong ended in a double homicide. Buyer shot dealer. Dealer shot buyer. Dealer was still alive when swat arrived ons. He ft’d his girlfriend (probably to tell her he was dying) and in turn she called 911 with him still on the phone. Their kids naturally wanted to know what was going on with daddy on FT. Girlfriend told them daddy was going to be ok and they all started singing twinkle twinkle little star while dad was agonal breathing. There was nothing I could do. He wouldn’t cooperate (or couldn’t for that matter) and swat was coming up with a game plan to enter the house. 🙃

Sitting on the line after a transfer to EMS and listening to a mom do CPR on her child that was electrocuted. Went home that night and received a call from my best friend that it was her daughter and she had passed. It never clicked during the call- I was in work mode.

When a 13 year old was actively eating every pill she could find in the house to die before LEO got on scene. They got to her in time and got her the help she needed. I still think about her. It was killing me bc my daughter was her age at the time dealing with her own mental health issues and I just kept talking to the caller like she was my daughter. And the second one was a lady who was pregnant and her baby’s leg was hanging out her vagina. She was miscarrying him and I couldn’t help except to get fire and ems to her. This hit particularly hard bc I was and continue to grieve my own miscarriage.

Mine is I’ll never forget the mother and her screams who I helped instruct to cut her young son down from a hanging. Provided cpr instructions as he had JUST done it. He didn’t make it but he was saved just enough to donate his organs ❤️🩹

The husband called in for his wife having difficulty breathing, I could hear her talking and then started coughing. He stopped answering my questions to focus on her. She was actively dying while I was on the phone and he went from being a concerned husband to realizing what was happening and hearing him use her nickname and beg her to hold on destroyed me. It lasted less than 2 1/2 min and they called the code as soon as they went on scene.

Abandoned 911 call. I then received a 911 call from a 16 yo who believed her boyfriend just committed sui by 🔫. Received a call from a neighbor who believed to have just heard a shot. All followed by the parents calling in while attempting cpr on their doa son. All calls were related. Get this, dad was a LEO. Next call was his agency calling to see if the wpn was his duty one….
