Many people doubted that the Dominator Polymeric Sand by @BDCBrands we installed last spring would last, so I wanted to post a follow up, one year later! Spoiler: It held up perfectly! I'm answering the most frequently asked questions below: #1 Does it last? Properly installed polymeric sand will last 5 - 10 years before requiring replacement! #2 Does it drain? Yes, DOMINATOR® Polymeric Sand allows drainage, while helping resist washout and erosion! That said, proper slope and drainage are still important, and it’s not recommended for low-lying or constantly wet areas. #3 How to install? We power washed all the old sand from between the pavers. In our case, this also washed out the weeds. Ensure all sand and weeds are removed before installing the sand. After that, simply sweep the sand into place, blow off the excess, and water lightly to activate! #4 How effective is it on weeds? In our case, VERY! We did not have any weeds come through the entire rest of the summer. Honestly, this was one of my favourite outdoor projects we've done because it took what was already there and made it look fresh and new again! And it is easily done in a weekend. #ad
