My fellow Namibians, this evening I met Silas Shatika, a former NDF Soldier, Force Number 17324445, and what I heard from him is deeply disturbing and demands the URGENT ATTENTION OF THE STATE. Silas alleges that despite being VERY MUCH ALIVE, he has been left homeless after members of his family allegedly declared him DEAD and proceeded to claim money from several Insurance Companies on the basis of his supposed death. If these allegations are established to be true, then we are not dealing with an ordinary family dispute. We are potentially dealing with FRAUD, IDENTITY ABUSE AND THE DELIBERATE EXPLOITATION OF A LIVING HUMAN BEING. How does a man who served his Country in the Namibian Defence Force end up homeless while allegedly being declared dead on paper? How were Insurance Claims processed? What documents were used to establish his alleged death? Who certified or confirmed that Silas Shatika was dead? And most importantly: WHO RECEIVED THE MONEY? These are questions that MUST be answered. I therefore urgently call upon the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, together with all relevant law enforcement authorities, to immediately investigate these allegations. Silas Shatika deserves more than sympathy. HE DESERVES JUSTICE. If crimes were committed, every person involved regardless of whether they are relatives, officials or anybody else must be held accountable before the Law. A man cannot be DEAD ON PAPER WHILE STANDING ALIVE BEFORE US. We will not look away. JUSTICE FOR SILAS SHATIKA! Revolutionary Greetings Saddam Amushelelo The People’s General President of the Ghetto
