While I love The Pitt I am a bit annoyed at how if they keep putting out a new season every year with their “ensemble” cast most actors will always get nominated even if there isn’t a good reason to. I’m not saying the show and its actors don’t deserve any awards or even many awards they definitely do but basically half of the supporting actor and actress categories being from The Pitt is a bit ridiculous when I’d argue many of them didn’t have a particularly standout performance. The focus this season was a lot more on Dr. Robby and it felt less like an ensemble cast so many of them weren’t given a compelling enough storyline to really show off their acting chops. For example for female supporting actress I think Sepideh Moafi is the only one I feel strongly about truly deserving that nomination but that’s because the writers made her complex and managed to give her a whole character arc in a single day and gave her many emotional big acting moments that Emmy voters love. Same with Patrick Ball. They are all truly great actors but I think The Pitt is already too big to fail in that regard and if they all continue being nominated for relatively minor storylines and The Pitt keeps winning tons of awards regardless then the writers and Noah will more easily get away with shifting away from an ensemble to a Robby-and-side-characters show
