She asked how I was doing, checked on the kids, and then said something that stayed in my heart: “My son, please don’t give up on love. One day, you will meet someone honest and sincere who will love you, stand by you, and love your children as her own.” Then she said, “I just want to see you happy and married before I leave this world.” Those words nearly broke me.
