True story: I was working a baseball camp at a major P5 program and this kid I knew from my hometown was actually there and he was an absolute stud. He was the best player at the camp. I asked an assistant coach what he thought about him and he said “I don’t know man, I just don’t like how he moves”. They passed on him and he goes to a different school and starts for 3 years. That’s some baseball nonsense right there.

This is exactly why baseball is hard to watch. Because the dudes don’t play ball. They are drafted on analytics, so they play to appease analytics. It’s ridiculous.

The miss rate on prospects is extremely high in baseball, they use the analytics to try and narrow that gap. There is a place for both
