And along the way, you’ll discover countless fox statues 🦊 — believed to be the messengers of Inari, the Shinto deity of rice, prosperity and success. The full trail leads up Mount Inari, with beautiful viewpoints and quieter sections the higher you go. But you don’t have to walk the entire route to experience its magic. ✨ Travel tip: Come early in the morning for a more peaceful atmosphere and fewer crowds — and don’t forget to look beyond the famous first gates.
