So, how are all the “Lindsay is innocent, Patrick did it” proponents going to spin this? Yes, we know Trump can’t pardon a Massachusetts state conviction. Reddington knows that too. He’s asking for influence and clemency. But here’s the question: why are we talking about clemency at all if Lindsay is supposedly completely innocent? A pardon is an act of executive forgiveness or leniency. It is not a declaration of innocence. So which is it? Innocent….or in need of a pardon?
