The way this happened to my older , she managed to save 10k by her early twenties for her own business only to give it all to ppl back home (she genuinely regrets it so much) . My dad calls me selfish cause I’ve said repeatedly I will never send money to anyone back home (except my siblings) cause I deadass do not know his family or my mums ,the shit I’ve heard of members who lie for money etc. It makes no sense for me to do it when I’m struggling my damn self and they will never return the favour
