I love your stuff but this one wasn’t it. I think adding a dark walnut with a matte finish might rescue it and give it that Ralph Lauren look.

Nope. It was meant to be a wood finish. These lamps were popular in the 80s with the solid wood basset furniture. I would have just purchased a new lamp shade and used this lamp in a rustic setting or cabin.
