MGS4 cqc is even worse since you barely ever get to use it. Great story awful gameplay, enjoy your 10th turret section.

MGS3/4's CQC you use various controller inputs to perform various actions, making the learning curve a bit steep for new players, but rewarding. In MGSV the animations are cool, no denying that, but it's just spamming or holding R1 + left stick, no learning curve, no skill necessary

I feel like Venom Snake wouldn't have had to worry about using specialized techniques as much as Solid Snake would've had to anyway, right? since by this point the military wasn't training soldiers to become CQC machines

MGS4 has more to it, but there’s not many chances you get to use it. MGSV has the best imo, it may not be in-depth but there’s plenty of opportunities where you get to use it, satisfying too.

The standard r2 spam combo is cooler in V, but I might prefer everything else in 4. Although the prone leg sweep r2 in V is definitely a bonus.

Vengo de acabar MGS4 y la verdad, el hecho de que el sistema sea más complejo en el 4 no lo hace mejor en absoluto. Casi nunca lo usas porque simplemente no es rentable ni práctico. En el 5 se siente cómo si te movieras con toda la agilidad y ligereza del mundo gracias a que la cinestesia es magistral y puede ser aplicada en varias situaciones.

I mean if we go purely off game mechanics it sucks in all games. you’re spamming the attack button lmao, that’s all it’s ever been in most of these games. “better” here just means it looks cooler and looks prettier
