what are you talking about? I am in a masters program, my professors have lectures were they teach you the topic. you are responsible for your own notes.

In college you get instructed to teach yourself you might ask a couple questions in canvas or email but that’s it instructor isn’t a friend or personal buddy

Literally my math class, so we go to the 1hour 30min class just to sit at a computer on the app called ALEKS and we have to complete 3 mods in 7 weeks and the “teacher” and teacher aid just walk around we learn everything ourselves

In college nothing I write down from the book, word of mouth, or PowerPoint has been on an exam… like fr idk what I’m doing wrong at this point but I can end the semester with a notebook FULL of notes that help none in the open note tests

I think the real issue is that professors, unlike high school teachers, their job is to basically do research and benefit the university. Their secondary priority is to teach classes. I absolute hate that. Like why tf are we paying for them to benefit the university and not us?

Thats because college is more about instruction rather than being taught. I feel like you spent the first 12 years dealing with teachers that you should be prepared to follow instructions by the time you get to college. You also have to have good critical thinking skills.
