I was there in the audience. The comic that came on right before him was terrible. We boot them off the stage. Martin came out and was laughing about it telling us that we weren’t Showtime at the Apollo. So he walked off stage and then walked back on as if it didn’t happen. Then Bernie Mac came on and yes, that opening line had us all riled up because of what had just happened prior to his set. Classic!
