She does sound better because she is EXACTLY what Akira Toriyama imagined Goku's voice as. She does the correct accent for Goku as well. You don't need to speak Japanese to understand a good vocal performance. That inherently makes it the better voice.

English Goku changed who Goku was (like most of the characters). So yes, the Japanese voice doesn't match YOUR strange non-canon Goku's personality. Same way in English Vegeta is hot headed and dials up the arrogance x10, whereas in Japanese his character is much more calm, collected and measured. English Goku is a different character all together, and it's a worse character.. more generic, superman-esque..

I usually watch in sub but I watch dragon ball in dub and I dont dislike Goku's japanese actor but the dub is just more fitting. Except the songs, theyre better in sub
