Looks like possible Foxtail imbedded, depending on where you live. They usually get in-between the toes, looks like that, and the pet licks like crazy. Get it checked soon though cause oxtail migrate. They WILL have to sedate to treat though so be prepared for that cost.

Question what muzzle do you use? Short of spending a small fortune for a custom I’ve struggled to find one that fits my rottie boy, pic for tax and hope all is well with your baby

Omg I have never come across anyone else who’s Bulldog has had the same kind of cancer as our girl. We caught ours in time to where they were able to amputate her toe and it hadn’t spread. She was around 8 years old at that time. She ended up passing away when she was 12 from a bone cancer in her leg.

I'm a CVT, imo Otis's photo looks more like an interdigital furunculosis, which is something my own Duncan is dealing with. We're working with a boarded veterinary dermatologist, which is what I'd recommend for you. This is who you need to call, their # is (913) 374-0777, according to Google it's about a 25 minute drive there from Kansas City. Call them and give them the backstory about your bulldog's CL, and that you're freaking out because of how similar it looks, and that the rDVM hasn't inspired confidence about it. Call who you saw today and ask them to prescribe some pre visit sedation, usually traz0done and high dose gabapent!n, to have on hand for visits. it will help Otis's stress levels and allow for a more thorough exam and hopefully diagnostics.

Vet tech and owner who also lost their dog to a very rare sarcoma cancer here. Your vet is doing the right things. Dont panic yet. Think it through step by step. If this is something simple like an infection that can be easily treated, you don’t want to jump straight to amputation. That would be doing more harm than good. Treat it like an infection first because that is much more likely here. If that doesn’t help clear it, then do the biopsy. Not all masses are cancerous. In fact, most of them usually aren’t. I recently had to amputate my other dogs toe for a confirmed mass that ended up being non-cancerous, he’s 9. Also took a mass off the foot of my other dog recently which also was non-cancerous, she’s 10. The chances of a mass being cancerous in a young dog are not zero but they’re a heck of a lot less likely than a 12 year old bulldog. Bulldogs have a lot of predisposed health issues and cancer is one of them. I feel your trauma though it’s so hard to walk away from that mindset. After the cancer in my first dog every mass lump and bump I find on my two current dogs makes my heart drop out of my chest immediately. I absolutely understand your immediate fear. Take a deep breath for your own mental health sake and don’t work yourself up just yet. Even if it is cancer, nothing in the next 5 days is going to make that worse. So give the antibiotics and see where it goes from there. If it doesn’t clear, just remember not all masses are cancerous. And a lot of the ones that are cancerous can be completely removed surgically from areas like that, unfortunately sometimes that means amputation. But dogs adjust very well to that. So don’t stress yourself out too badly just yet. He’s going to be okay one way or another. You’re doing the right things. You’re a really really good mom!

You need a vet that’s not afraid to touch ANY dog, I had a corgi that a vet wouldn’t touch (he had hella anxiety and would literally pull his hair out like what you showed) because there was a corgi (not mine) who was aggressive

Cutaneous lymphoma. I am soooo sorry 😔 unfortunately that’s how that cancer is shown. Your odds are very, very slim to have. It’s less than 1% of dogs get. Take a breath. I have also gone through this spiral.

COULD BE A INTERDIGITAL CYST!! It starts out as an impacted hair follicle and gets infected and turns into a puss filled bump. Look it up I hope it gives you peace of mind until you find a worthy vet

My dog had a spot like that. It was from a foxtail imbedding into her foot and traveled under the skin and had to be cut out. They found it on xray

Tech here and it reminds me a lot like an interdigital cyst that ruptured based on your two photos. Did your vet see the first photo? Unfortunately they can take a long time to heal - like weeks not days, so may be best to do the biopsy anyway so you know your next steps! It’s totally understandable to be worried with your history.

Please continue looking for a new vet that is comfortable with him and is fear free (coming from a client service representative and pittie/rottie mom) , I hear this so often from clients and once they find the vet I work at it is a relief for the babies and their owners. Wishing you and your precious boy all the best. 🥺🩵

You’re a great dog mom, your dogs are so lucky to have you and your fiancé. They are so loved and I know the anxiety is real. One thing at a time, let the vets do all the things and love and hug that gorgeous boy. I just lost my yellow lab a month ago, he was my soul boy. I also have another dog who makes the days a bit better. Hug and love that gorgeous pup, he is well taken care of! ❤️
