Everyone has a story, and whenever I see your videos I wonder. Does my ex even know I see him as my abuser? I got out after 8 years of a slow burn, toxic situation. He made me hate myself, question myself, made me afraid, made me want to self delete. But I never called him out explicitly as what he was in my life. It’s irrelevant now. But I do wonder, does he know that that’s how I see him in my life’s story.

I’m three years out of an abusive marriage and was finally starting to feel independent, like my life was actually mine again. But somehow he is still controlling it. There was a lot of financial abuse, including loans and debts put in my name without my knowledge. A few days ago I opened my bank account and found out it had been seized because of a judgment I knew nothing about, and now my wages are being garnished too. I’ve spent four days calling and reaching out everywhere, just trying to find someone who can help me fill out the court forms to ask for a stay so I can at least have a chance to defend myself. I have no money left, and if I can’t get this stopped before the end of the month, I won’t even be able to pay my rent. I honestly don’t know where else to turn. I worked so hard to rebuild my life after leaving him, and I can’t understand how he can still have this much control over it three years later.
